Mission of the Hoisting
and Portable Engineers, Local #4
Apprenticeship and
Training Fund
It is the mission of the Hoisting and
Portable Engineers, Local #4 Apprenticeship and Training Fund to
operate an educational and on-the-job training program (Apprenticeship
Program) to train apprentices to become Operating Engineers skilled in
all aspects of the operation and maintenance of construction
equipment.
Toward these ends, the objectives of the
Apprenticeship Program are to promote:

Safety in all aspects
of the trade;

Excellence in
instruction in accordance with national and local standards in all
aspects of the Operating Engineers trade;

On-the-job training
in all aspects of the Operating Engineers’ trade; and,

Understanding of and
respect for all apprentices, operators, management personnel, other
individuals and craft trades involved in the construction industry.
In
order to perform these essential job functions, all apprentices must
have the ability to do the following;
